1996 Ibanez Talman TC620-OM

Very Good

$799.99

This is the later TC620 model (v2) with the Ash body!
Made in Korea (Cort).

Serial: C6082891
Built: August 1996
Finish: Olive Metallic (OM)
Total weight: 7lb 3.3 oz

Probably one of the most desirable finishes and body wood combos of the mid-90s Talmans! This guitar has all original (and correct) hardware, nut, etc. There's very minimal fret wear! Tuning machines feel nice and tight. No crackling from electronics!

Shows appropriate wear and patina for its age.

Tone pot replaced (by me) with correct alpha mini 500k, and 223k capacitor. The original pot had seized, and would not turn. All other wiring and electronics are original.

Guitar was fully disassembled (for documenting and cleaning) then correctly setup. Original tremolo arm is missing. Will come with a guitar soft bag.

Setup:

  • polish frets
  • clean and oil fretboard (Nomad F-ONE oil)
  • Ernie Ball Slinky 9-42 strings
  • Nomad TUNE-IT lubricant on nut and saddles
  • original nut slot depths, OK
  • neck realigned
  • truss rod adjusted to .010" (.254mm)
  • deoxidize and lubricate all electronics
  • bridge pins set to ~9mm (top to body)
  • bridge setup to float parallel with body
  • string height and pickup heights adjusted
  • intonation adjusted
  • carnuba wax on body

String heights @12th (hold 1st):

  • E 1.5mm
  • A 2mm
  • D 2mm
  • G 2.1mm
  • B 1.8mm
  • e 1.5mm

Pickup heights:

  • Neck: low side 2mm, high side 1.6mm
  • Bridge: low side 2mm, high side 1.6mm

Blemishes:
  • Hairline crack in the clear coat on the front of the guitar, from the lower left pickguard screw down to the bottom of the body. It's very hard to photograph and also hard to see in person unless light hits it at specific angles.
  • Chipped wood/paint near the neck pocket (right side)
  • Small dent on the back of the neck (middle, around 2nd fret)
  • Surface wear on pickup covers and pickguard
  • Screws show some tarnishing/rusting
  • Bottom edge of jackplate shows some corrosion (right bottom edge, cleaned the best I could)
  • Edge wear on top of headstock
  • Minor scuffs, scratches, and surface wear (see photos)

Note, I'm just being thorough here. Overall I'd still rate this guitar very good to excellent condition! If it wasn't for the chip near the neck pocket I'd rate the condition higher. It's easily one of the nicer examples I've come across.
